A little about me/OADE, and a little about Armagnac:
OADE Armagnac was founded in 2023 by Dan Hakker and formally launched in September of 2025. A long time bourbon enthusiast, Dan fell in love with Armagnac in 2018 and never turned back. Over the last several years he has traveled back and forth to France visiting over 100 producers and tasting thousands of casks in their cellars. The result is a brand focused on bringing the highest quality rare single barrel, cask strength Armagnac to enthusiasts across the United States.
Armagnac is a French grape based brandy that has a long and storied history dating back to the 14th century, but it has largely remained under the radar outside of France. The region is home to over 500 producers, many of them small, family-owned operations with deep roots in the land. Most produce only a few barrels each year and hold inventories of fewer than 250 in their cellars. The spirit is aged for decades in French oak, and every variable—such as grape varietal, terroir, vintage conditions, and cooperage—shapes the identity of each unique barrel. No two casks are alike.
