Join us for a festive celebration of the fall harvest and the beloved pumpkin at our annual Pumpkin Day at Wellington County Museum & Archives! This free, family-friendly event is packed with activities and entertainment for kids of all ages. We ask attendees to please bring a cash or food donation for the Centre Wellington Food Bank.
Here’s what we have lined up for you:
– Professional Pumpkin carver – see an expert carver transform a 75-100 pound pumpkin into a work of
art
– Pumpkin Carving Competition – show off your carving skills! Each family can carve a pumpkin on site
(while supplies last). Top pumpkins will be recognized with an award
– African Drumming Circle – Try your drumming skills in a vibrant drumming session with an African
Drummer
– Indigenous Dancers – Tribal Vision Dancers: “Visions of Turtle Island” Explore First Nations history and
traditions in Tribal Vision’s high-energy performance!
– Face Painting – Talented face painters will transform faces into magical designs
– Caricatures by Taylor
– Ninja Wall for kids 5 and up by One Axe Pursuits
– Reptile Show – Get up close and personal with fascinating reptiles
– Sparrows’ Nests – get crafty!
– Live Music – Enjoy live performances by local musician Paul Whittaker and his band.
– Live Dance – Delight in the performances by our local dance troupe, the Blue Bonnet Lassies, and a
local Ukrainian Dance Troupe.
– Free treats – Pumpkin Ice Cream (while quantities last)
– Food for Purchase – Groovy Grilled Cheese Food Truck
