Chovu - Black Metal ( Kenya )
Chovu is living Kenyan culture. Strong influences from traditional rhythms, legends, and spirituality combine
with wild black metal. Founded in 2021, the band has been inspired by subgenres such as thrash and black
metal since its inception. They see Chovu as a sword against the sometimes untenable political and social
conditions in their country, against the dogmatic and pervasive religiosity, against neocolonialism, and ram
pant inequality.
Chovu is an expression of their otherness. „We didn‘t feel like we belonged to any of the dominant subcultu
res,“ so they say, „so we created our own.“

he band as a whole also embraces this DIY spirit. Music videos and albums are produced and recorded in
house, and costumes and outfits are created independently.

he band performs live with face paint and in traditional costumes.

Chovu will be available exclusively, and for the first time in Europe this fall of 2025.

Dodentocht - Sludge ( Netherlands )
Formed out of a fortunate meeting in Eindhoven (the Netherlands). The entity Dodentocht started
rehearsing citing influence from bands like Dystopia,Conan,Noothgrush and Down. In a short time
they wrote and recorded their debut single Cogs of Existence (13-01-2023) and shortly thereafter
their sophomore single Confused ideals (28-02-2023) releasing them independently. Following these
releases Dodentocht played numerous live shows through het Netherlands playing major cities like
Amsterdam, Utrecht, Eindhoven and Haarlem. Their live show being energetic yet grim focussing on
intense delivery
Unapologetic lyrics about nihilism, misanthropy, self loathing and anything dark they write with a
self-diagnosis on what sludge and death doom means to them and are currently in the recording
process of their self titled debut ep
