When Buddy (Will Ferrell) is accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler, he grows up believing he’s just another one of Santa’s elves. But when he realizes he doesn’t quite fit in, Buddy heads to New York—still in full elf uniform—to find his real father, Walter Hobbs (James Caan), a world-weary businessman who isn’t exactly ready for Buddy’s boundless Christmas spirit. What follows is a hilarious, heartwarming adventure filled with candy canes, Christmas magic, and plenty of holiday chaos.
