Once upon a time, Joel crisscrossed America, determined to become the first British comedian to perform in all 50 states. His journey took him from rowdy redneck bars in the Deep South to the casinos of Las Vegas.
Sharing the stage with many of his comedy heroes, including the late Robin Williams, Joel was living life in the fast lane but when a fateful night in Tennessee flipped his world upside down, he came back to England, purchased a narrowboat and 18 years on, he’s still floating around.

In Season 1, follow Joel as he navigates between shows in London and Coventry. Paying homage to Phil Collins on Live Aid who performed two shows on the same day, 6000 miles apart, travelling by Concorde, Joel attempts to do two shows in the same month, 60 miles apart, travelling by narrowboat.
Season 2 sees Joel journeying from Birmingham to Sharpness, where he takes his narrowboat onto The Bristol Channel in the middle of the night.
