Pond restoration at Upper Froyle

Froyle Wildlife are organising a work party to help restore an historic pond which has silted up.

Parking is yet to be confirmed, but we will be close to the 'Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church' on Ryebridge Lane, Upper Froyle, GU34 4FF.

You will need to bring appropriate clothing and footwear for digging and moving plants and silt, as well as taking into account the weather. If you have spades, forks and rakes it will be helpful to bring them along as well as gardening/safety gloves etc.

Please can you also bring drinks and any food/snacks to keep you hydrated etc.

We will be removing roughly a third of the silt and some of the vegetation on this dried up pond to help the known population of great crested newts as well as other protected species.
