Have you ever wondered what happens to some of the fleeces from the flock of fifty rare breed Cotswold “Golden Fleeces” at Conygree Farm?
I collect them straight after shearing, take them home and skirt, sort and wash the fleeces and then either spin the wool or weave on looms.
And now you can have a go! Here at Conygree Farm, Aldsworth GL54 on Saturday 20th September 10.30am - 1.30pm.
I will be showing you the fleeces in the raw and explain the “Golden Fleece” and then provide you with washed and carded fibre to create your own small rug, seat pad or moggie mat.
The workshop will include cutting your warp lengths, threading and setting up a peg loom, weaving, having a go at carding the fleece and finishing off your special piece, ready to take home with you!
Wool is such a renewable and sustainable source with hypoallergenic qualities. As well as being very cosy! You will be taking home something that was literally grown on the sheep at the farm. It doesn’t get much more sustainable than that!
Price per person to include tuition, equipment and materials and a small rug, seat pad or moggie mat to take home, measuring approximately 60 x 60 cms.
£45 (refreshments not included but there is a lovely cafe on site)
