The Faribault Fire Department is excited to host its annual Open House on Oct. 4 in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, giving kids the opportunity to explore the Fire Station, fire trucks and taking part in many hands-on activities.
The event, held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Faribault Fire Department, will give kids the chance to spray a fire hose, go through an agility course, and watch thermal imagery.
Kids also receive a free fire hat, free smoke detectors and many more swag items.

Fire Prevention Week: Oct. 5 – 11
The Faribault Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) - the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week for more than 100 years - to promote this year’s campaign “Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.”
This campaign works to educate everyone about using these batteries safely. The campaign stresses how important it is to buy, charge, and recycle safely when it comes to lithium-ion batteries.
