What does it mean to live a meaningful life in a universe illuminated by science? In this compelling presentation, author Sasha Sagan, daughter of Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan, invites us to explore how awe, love, and ritual can thrive without religious belief. Drawing from her book For Small Creatures Such as We, she reflects on how science can inspire a deep sense of reverence for life and the cosmos.
The presentation will be followed by a dynamic conversation with Dr. Ernest Simmons, theologian and professor emeritus of religion at Concordia College. Together, they will explore the relationship between faith and reason, asking where science and religion converge and where they diverge. Can secular and spiritual worldviews find common ground in the search for truth, hope, and purpose?
This evening promises a rich dialogue at the intersection of science and religion, encouraging curiosity, humility, and wonder.
