We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming community breakfast! 🥐☕ It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy delicious food, great company, and thought-provoking conversation.
This month, we’ll be discussing sacred plants. Our guest speaker is Gabriela Hidrobo, PhD Candidate in the Applied Plant Science Program in the Department of Horticulture at University of Minnesota. Born in Quito, Ecuador, Gabriela developed a strong connection to the land and natural remedies. Drawn from her grandmother's ancestral wisdom, Gabriela continues to rely on herbs for health and well-being.
In this conversation, she will be sharing insights into the ancient wisdom of sacred plants, such as sage, palo santo, and artemisia. These plants, honored by Indigenous cultures, carry deep spiritual and medicinal significance. Sage is widely known for its cleansing smoke, which purifies the mind, body, and space, while also offering anti-inflammatory and cognitive benefits. Similarly, palo santo and artemisia are used to clear negative energy and invite healing. Sharing these plant teachings not only fosters physical and emotional well-being but also honors ancestral knowledge and strengthens our collective spirit through ritual and respect.
Come ready to learn, share your experiences, and connect with others. We’ll also have a wonderful breakfast spread awaiting you! Feel free to contribute if you like. 🥐🍓☕
