YALLA DABKE

Yalla Dabke is a joyful celebration of Levantine dance, bringing together the power of Syrian dabke and the fluid expression of bellydance in one energising experience. Led by Miramar a Syrian teacher who grew up in the Middle East and danced to it's different rythms. These workshops offer both cultural grounding and embodied movement—through footwork, technique, feeling, and dynamic combos. Come move, connect, and share in the collective rhythm — open to all levels.

10.00 AM - 12.00 PM Bellydance Dabke Fusion
Step into a vibrant meeting point of grounded dabke and fluid bellydance. This workshop blends the powerful, rhythmic spirit of Levantine dabke with the softness, articulation, and flow of oriental bellydance. You’ll explore how these two traditions can converse through movement—strong footwork melting into juicy hips, proud posture meeting expressive arms, and high energy weaving into personal expression.

In this session, the focus is on technique, feeling, and dynamic combinations. You’ll learn practical movement patterns, transitions between dabke steps and bellydance vocabulary, and learn a choreography you can take straight into your own dance practice or performances.

Expect sweat, connection, cultural flavour, and that delicious feeling of moving with both power and softness. This workshop is open to all levels—whether you come from a folk, bellydance, or fusion background, you’ll walk away feeling grounded, energised, and inspired.

12:00 PM - 02:00 PM Syrian Dabke

This energetic Dabke workshop invites you into the vibrant spirit of Syrian folk dance, led by a Syrian teacher who is sharing her culture, steps, and communal feeling of Dabke as it is danced in celebration and gathering.

In this session, you’ll learn the foundations of Syrian Dabke and explore different Dabke Styles from the coastline to the mountains. Learn footwork, rhythm, posture, and group connection — while exploring the character and attitude that bring the dance to life.

We’ll build confidence through accessible drills and learn a joyful Dabke combination you can dance together as a group.

Expect a high-energy, uplifting workshop that leaves you feeling connected, grounded, and buzzing with collective spirit — whether it’s your first time trying Dabke or you already love dancing in a line.
