Black Uhuru were the first group to win a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album and has been setting the gold standard for roots reggae for over 50 years — delivering hypnotic basslines, razor-sharp rhythms, and harmonies that carry both protest and praise. Formed in Kingston, Jamaica in 1972, they became the first reggae band to win a Grammy, helping take the sound of Jamaica to the world.
