About this Event

Co-presented with Point Reyes Books and Wayfinder Bookshop

As California residents, the crackling threat of wildfire forms a constant background to our lives and psyches. In this conversation, we’ll hear from four writers whose thoughtful consideration of wildfire has influenced their work across genres, from memoir and fiction to poetry and nonfiction. Novelist Daniel Gumbiner (Fire in the Canyon), naturalist Obi Kaufmann (The State of Fire), memoirist Manjula Martin (The Last Wildfire Season), and poet Rachel Richardson (Smother) will explore contrasts and convergences in their rich and varied works. FREE, $10–15 suggested donation
