Parent & Me Snowman Cake with Fondant Decorating Class

Join Chef Dawn Alston of Ravy Cakes, LLC, competitor on Food Networks, The Wedding Cake Championship for a fun & festive Snowman themed Cake Decorating Class with Fondant.

Each team will receive a six-inch, two-layered crumb-coated cake. The teams will learn how to apply the final buttercream to the cake, create fondant decorations, and learn how to cover the cake with fondant while creating a winter wonderland snowman!

This hands-on class is perfect for parents, grandparents, or guardians to bond with their little ones while learning the art of decorating with fondant. We will work with delicious cakes and buttercream, colorful fondant, and the teams will learn beginner friendly techniques like draping the cake with fondant, creating a carrot nose, scarf, snowflakes, plus more!

Light refreshments will be served.

The teams will receive a cake box to take their creations home

Meet Your Instructor:

Dawn Alston of Ravy Cakes, a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native, grew up in Northern Virginia where she started baking at the age of six. Dawn holds an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts and has competed in many local baking events and in 2018 she competed on Food Network’s Wedding Cake Championship. All The Details:

• Age Level: 6+ with a parent/adult
• Skill Level: Beginner
• Each ticket includes 1 adult and 1 child. If you wish to bring more than 1 child to the class, there is an additional charge of $100. Please contact Fran's directly to purchase your ticket to ensure we can accommodate an additional child.
• All supplies and tools are provided for use during class.
• We will provide a box for each team to take your cake home in
• The class may be a little messy so we recommend bringing an apron.
• If you have long hair, you may want to tie it back.
• Class requires a minimum of 2 teams and there is a maximum of 8 teams. In the event of insufficient enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
• Class will run approximately 2.5 hours. Please note that the class is hands-on and may run over or under schedule.

Cancellation Policy:

Changes and cancellations...we know life happens so we try our best to be flexible while being fair to our instructors who purchase supplies and bake for each student. Full refunds or credits are available for cancellations made at least 5 days prior to the class. If you need to cancel after 5 days but at least 48 hours in advance, we can offer you a credit for a future class. We cannot offer any credits for cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled class.
