This FREE, hands-on introductory training covers essential introductory skills in Power Tools.
*Women in the Trades trainings are designed specifically for women interested in a non-traditional career in the trades.
Training Highlights:
-Measuring & Layout: Learn to use a tape measure accurately and cut drywall to fit wood shapes.
-Tool Safety & Operation: Proper use of hand tools and key power tools.
-Build Projects:
--Cut wood with a compound miter saw
--Join with a pocket hole jig
--Drill and fasten with drills and impact drivers
--Smooth finishes with sanders
-Take-Home Projects: Build a small table and a ladder shelf
--Additional power tools introduced throughout the training.

This training opportunity is designed to:
• Provide participants with an experiential understanding of a career in the construction trades, and
• Enhance participants' abilities to gain employment in the construction industry.

• All applicants must participate in the interview process to be considered for final placement in the training.
