Boys and girls who will be eight or older by September 7th, 2025 are invited to audition for North Star Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker”. No previous dance experience required. The audition is open to all children ages eight and up. Children do not need to be enrolled in the North Star Ballet School to participate in "The Nutcracker". Performance dates are December 5, 6 & 7, 2025
Families are required to volunteer for a minimum of two (2) shifts during the rehearsal and performance process.
Auditions are Sunday, September 7th at North Star Ballet, 1755 Westwood Way.
Audition times are divided by age group. Children should attend the audition for the age that they are on September 8th, 2024:
2:00-3:00 -- Ages 12 & older
2:45-3:45 -- 10 & 11 year olds
3:30-4:30-- 8 & 9 year olds
Audition Dress Code:
Legging or shorts and a fitted T-shirt OR
Boys: Fitted white T-shirt, black leggings or shorts, black socks, black ballet shoes
Girls: Black short sleeved leotard with no skirt or decoration, pink footed tights and pink ballet shoes, or skin tone matching tights and skin tone matching ballet shoes, hair in a bun.
There is a $75 performance participation fee for each dancer. This fee is waived for dancers who show proof of enrollment in the free or reduced school lunch program or who are on NSB tuition assistance. North Star Ballet has a limited supply of dance attire available to borrow for the audition. You may also order online at discountdance.com. If you use Teacher Code TP 121516 at checkout you might receive a small discount and NSB will earn reward points.
