1. Whats happening:
• 1-2pm Planning Session – Help shape this new art group. Share what you’d like it to be, what you don’t want, ask questions, offer advice.
• 2-3pm Art Show & Tell –
You can a piece of art suitable for a general audience (optional)
2. Is my art ok to bring?
For this first gathering, please bring only art for a general audience. If you’re unsure whether your piece is a good fit, reach out to me and we can talk it through. In the future, we’ll create space for sharing more sensitive or vulnerable work. Any skill level and any medium are welcome, and ugly art is beloved here. You do not have to bring art to come!
3. Proposed structure for future meetings (open to input)
Here’s the plan for now, but it can change based on your feedback, We’ll shape the group together. I envision two meetings a month each with a separate theme.
⚫️Making Art (guided low-stakes art)
Activities will be fun and/or cathartic, helping process emotions like anxiety, grief, anger, or joy
Exercises may explore identity, mental health, personal history etc
Also includes prompts that are purely fun and teach accessible techniques anyone can try
I have a library of prompts and techniques I’ve collected and personally benefited from. Techniques use household or inexpensive materials. If you’re curious for examples, you can message me to discuss further and see if it’s something you’re interested in
During sessions, all supplies will be provided by FQC.
If you don’t wanna do the prompts, you’re welcome to do anything you want during session and just be with like-minded folks making art
⚫️Sharing Art (show and tell)
A safe, consent, and boundary focused space to share art you’re proud of or want to talk about
Designed with clear guidelines so people can be vulnerable while feeling supported and respected
⚫️The two sessions may differ in vibe so participants can chose one or both sessions to attend
Your voice matters.
