Should Christians be in the education game? What is the role of religion in public schooling? How should both believers and non-believers think about educating their kids?

We are in an era where the demand for Christian, religious and values-based schooling is higher than ever. At the same time, both public and private schooling operate under ever-growing social, political and legal requirements. In this context, how should we (whether Christian or non-Christian) think about the place of Christianity in contemporary schooling and education--and what is best for our kids?

Dr Simon Kennedy is a historian who focuses on Christianity, law, politics, and education. He is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Education at Alphacrucis University College, a Senior Research Fellow at the UQ Law School, and he lectures at the Lachlan Macquarie Institute, Queensland Theological College, and Presbyterian Theological College. He is married and has 5.5 kids.
