Join us for our Tutored Photography Experience at Watatunga. Before heading out into the reserve, professional wildlife photographer Helen will share practical tips on camera settings, helping you feel confident and ready to capture the moment. You’ll then head out on an open-sided safari trailer with one of our experienced guides, keeping an eye out for Watatunga’s birds and animals along the way. Helen will be on hand throughout the session, with opportunities, at your guide’s discretion, to step off the trailer and photograph wildlife on foot.
Helen’s passion for wildlife photography comes from spending time watching behaviour, not just taking the shot. She began focusing more seriously on photography in 2018 and quickly discovered how absorbing and calming it can be. A chance to slow down and really connect with what’s happening in front of the lens.
Helen made the most of photographing wildlife close to home, and when she first visited Watatunga, it instantly felt like something special, a true safari experience in Norfolk. In early 2024, she took on leading our tutored photography sessions and has loved helping guests get more from their cameras, while sharing her knowledge with fellow wildlife enthusiasts.
