About this Event

Spiritual Tibet Pilgrimage

July 4 – 16, 2026

This sacred journey through Tibet is both an outer pilgrimage and an inner initiation. Together we will walk the ancient paths of devotion, wisdom, vastness, and unity—culminating in the profound purification of Mount Kailash and the blessings of Lake Manasarovar. Each step opens the way for remembrance, awakening, and blessing.

Day 1 – Arrival in Lhasa: Breath of the Mountains

Upon arrival in Lhasa, you will be welcomed by our guide and taken to the hotel. Here we rest and begin acclimating to the sacred altitude of the “Roof of the World.” Quiet breathing and gentle integration will open us to the high vibration of this land.

Upon arrival and once all pilgrims have gathered, we will begin with a Welcoming Ceremony—an orientation and circle of introduction. In this sacred space, we meet one another as companions of the journey, set our intentions, and receive blessings to open the path ahead.

Day 2 – Lhasa City: Devotion & Vision
  • Potala Palace – Seat of the Dalai Lamas, radiating the presence of vision and spiritual authority. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and an iconic symbol of Tibetan Buddhism and national identity.
  • Jokhang Temple – The holiest temple in Tibet, where devotion has been poured forth for centuries. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Barkor Street & Tea House – Experience the living heartbeat of Tibetan culture.

Spiritual Gift: Anchoring vision with devotion, aligning heart and crown in harmony.

Day 3 – Lhasa to Shigatse: Sacred Waters & Glacial Light

We journey west, pausing by Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s most sacred waters, shimmering like turquoise light in the mountains. Enjoy a farm lunch with a rural family by the lake.

  • Karola Glacier – Majestic ice flowing from holy Mount Noijin Kangsang.
  • Gyantse Valley – Expansive farmland, an image of abundance.

Spiritual Gift: Blessings of purity and fluidity, the reminder that life flows like sacred waters.

Day 4 – Shigatse: Future Buddha’s Blessing

Morning visit to Tashilunpo Monastery, founded by the 1st Dalai Lama and seat of the Panchen Lama. Here stands the vast Maitreya Buddha statue, radiant with gold and jewels.

Spiritual Gift: Hope, compassion, and the embrace of the coming age of wisdom.

Continue on toward Sakya.

Day 5 – Sakya Monastery: Treasury of Wisdom

The halls of Sakya guard 84,000 ancient texts of Dharma—wisdom united with compassion across centuries.

Spiritual Gift: Illumination of the mind, opening to vast streams of knowledge carried in the soul.

Day 6 – Toward Everest: The Great Threshold

Travel through Tingri to Everest Base Camp. From Dingri and Gawula Viewpoints we behold the vast Himalayan giants, including Everest herself. Sunset upon the world’s highest peak, if weather blesses us.

Spiritual Gift: Standing at the threshold of immensity, breathing in limitless possibility.

Overnight at Rongpuk Guesthouse.

Day 7 – Into the Plateau: Vastness & Wild Beauty

From Everest, journey onward through the Himalayas to Pekutso Lake, surrounded by wildlife and open skies, with views of sacred Shishapangma.

Spiritual Gift: Communion with nature in her vast, untamed expression.

Day 8 – Arrival at Mount Kailash & Lake Manasarovar

We cross the Ali Plateau, beholding snow mountains and pristine lakes, until Mount Kailash rises before us—axis of the world, jewel of the Himalayas. Nearby rests Lake Manasarovar, mirror of the heavens.

Spiritual Gift: Karmic purification and awakening into unity consciousness.

Day 9 – Kailash Kora, Day 1: Path of Faith

From Tarchen we begin the sacred circumambulation of Kailash. We pause at the prayer-flag pillar of faith, then walk the valley to Driapuk Monastery, where the mighty rock face of Kailash towers above. (8 miles / 5 hours)

Spiritual Gift: Deep trust, opening the heart to the Great Mystery.

Overnight at Driapuk Monastery Guesthouse (Dorm Bed).

Day 10 – Kailash Kora, Day 2: Crossing the High Pass

The most powerful day of the Kora. We ascend to Dromala Pass (18,471 ft), the highest point, passing Mercy Lake before descending into the valley. This day falls under the Full Moon (July 11, 2026)—a cosmic alignment magnifying transformation. (15 miles / 10 hours)

Spiritual Gift: Liberation. Crossing the high pass symbolizes the death of the old self and the birth of the radiant, eternal soul.

Overnight at Dzultripuk Monastery Guesthouse (Dorm Bed).

Day 11 – Kailash Kora, Day 3: Return & Waters of Integration

We complete the Kora, returning to Tarchen. In the afternoon we journey to Lake Manasarovar, whose crystalline waters are said to cleanse lifetimes of karma. Here we pause in silence, reflection, and prayer. (7.5 miles / 4 hours)

Spiritual Gift: Integration. The blessings of Kailash settle into the waters of the soul.

Day 12 – Return to Lhasa: Ceremony of Gratitude

We fly from Ali to Lhasa. In the evening, we gather for integration and a closing ceremony—prayers, chanting, and offerings of gratitude, carrying the light of Tibet into the world.

Day 13 – Departure

With blessings received, we are escorted to the airport, ready to carry the vibration of Tibet into our lives and communities.

2026: Year of the Horse

In Tibetan tradition, the Year of the Horse is the most sacred year for pilgrimage, especially to Mount Kailash. Circumambulating the holy mountain during a Horse Year is said to carry the blessings and merit of thirteen lifetimes of pilgrimage. This is because the Horse is linked with Lungta, the Windhorse, which symbolizes spiritual vitality, fortune, and the swift carrying of prayers. The Fire Horse year, which occurs only once every 60 years, magnifies this energy with the transformative, illuminating power of fire, making 2026 an especially auspicious and rare alignment.

Preparing for a Horse Year Pilgrimage

Pilgrimage in a Horse Year is more than a journey to a sacred mountain; it is an inner attunement to the Windhorse of the soul. In the months leading up to this holy time, pilgrims are invited to:

  • Tend the heart’s intention — letting prayers ripen into clear dedication for the upliftment of all beings.
  • Walk in generosity — weaving acts of kindness and offerings of service into daily life as threads of blessing.
  • Purify and simplify — embracing practices of clarity, whether through meditation, mantra, or mindful living, to approach the path with openness.
  • Raise the Windhorse — preparing prayer flags and connecting with the life-force of nature, allowing one’s spirit to ride the currents of vitality and light.

Together, our group will be carried upon this Windhorse current, arriving at Kailash not only as travelers but as radiant bearers of blessing, prayer, and light for the Earth.
