About the event

Blasad: A taste of Gaelic culture
For St Andrews Day, join us for a taste of Gaelic culture, with poetry, music, and song in the company of the Scottish Makar, Peter Mackay.

About this Event

Drawing on the talents of young Edinburgh musicians and the wider Edinburgh Gaelic community, come and hear a range of beautiful Gaelic songs which also cast a light on how Edinburgh and the Gaelic world have been intertwined over the centuries. Hosted by Peter Mackay – the first Makar who is also a Gaelic poet – this event will offer a glimpse of the richness of Gaelic culture.

Brought to you by in partnership with Ionad Gàidhlig Dhùn Èideann, an initiative to create a permanent Gaelic Hub in Edinburgh.
