The Difference of The Hope Gallery
“I feel like I belong at The Hope Gallery. People don’t see my disability and the things I can’t do. Instead, it’s a place for me to show all the things I can do.” - Paige, Team Member
Introducing The Hope Gallery Newburgh, a transformative nonprofit boutique run by and for adults with developmental disabilities. Our mission is to empower neurodivergent individuals, whom we affectionately call Team Members, by providing them with vocational training and valuable skills to thrive in the workforce.
At The Hope Gallery, we go beyond traditional vocational training. Our dedicated volunteers teach Team Members essential customer interaction, cash register operation, and the ins and outs of running a storefront. Additionally, we nurture their artistic abilities, encouraging them to create stunning jewelry, rugs, and most notably, signature mosaics. Each mosaic is a true masterpiece and fits with our tagline “wonderfully made, perfectly unique.”
In a unique collaboration, The Hope Gallery partners with other artisans hailing from across the US, Canada, and Israel. What sets these artisans apart is that they, too, face various disabilities. Together, we create a vibrant space that not only showcases the talents of our Team Members but also celebrates the incredible artistic abilities of hundreds of individuals.
The story of the Hope Gallery Newburgh began in the fall of 2021, humbly starting around a dining room table. From there, we have grown exponentially, and in the summer of 2022, we proudly opened our storefront. What makes our journey remarkable is the unwavering dedication of our Team Members. They have been involved in every step of the process, from ripping and replacing flooring to painting walls and arranging merchandise. Today, we are thrilled to have a team of approximately ninety (90) amazing individuals.
However, we cannot do this alone. We rely on the support of compassionate individuals like you to continue providing meaningful vocational opportunities to adults with disabilities in our community. Your contribution to our cause will make a tangible difference in the lives of those who deserve a chance to shine. Join us in fostering hope, creativity, and purpose. Together, we can continue creating a brighter future for all.
