"The UPTOWN" Book Talk & Wine Tasting

Local authors Robert Loerzel and James A. Pierce will give a brief talk and sign books. The book, from the Chicago publisher, CityFiles Press, will be available in limited quantities from Jarvis Square Books. Encapsulating 100 years of history, the book shares many stories and views of both the theatre and the Uptown neighborhood. It includes beautiful 1925 photographs from when the theatre was new and more recent views that show its distressed but still breathtaking condition. The book is also a clarion call to spark a movement to save the Uptown from its 44 years of stasis and uncertain future.
