This year, we are proud to support Two Rivers Pet and Wildlife Welfare Services as our chosen beneficiary. Their story began in 2019 at “The Range” in Hoopa, when a dog was discovered in a live trap over a bank. At first believed to be dead, the dog flicked an ear, revealing she was still alive but had been abandoned and left to die. Nearby, a small puppy—her mirror image—was found feral in the brush.
A plea for help on Facebook connected the finder with a foster, who would later become the other cofounder of the rescue. Both dogs were ultimately placed in loving forever homes, and this experience led to the founding of Two Rivers Pet and Wildlife Welfare Services as a nonprofit in 2021.
Today, their mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need, giving them a second chance at life. Our goal is to raise funds for this vital work through business sponsorships, donations, and race participation, with all proceeds going directly to support Two Rivers’ efforts.
Whether you are running with your furry friend or simply donating, your support makes a difference! So, lace up your shoes, grab your pup, and join us for a fun-filled day that benefits animals in need.
Why not go for a run with your best friend?
