We are hosting a Pork Slaughter & Processing Workshop at our home on Saturday, Feb. 7. This is a unique opportunity to see the full process: we’ll begin the morning with the slaughter, skinning, and evisceration of one pig, then move to processing a different pig that was killed the day before.
You’ll get hands-on experience in:
• The Harvest: Clean slaughter, skinning, and evisceration.
• The Breakdown: Quartering, cutting primals, and deboning techniques.
• The Craft: Identifying cuts, making lard, bacon, and sausage.
• The Gear: How to use and maintain basic butchery equipment.
Whether you're a homesteader or just want to understand where your food comes from, this day will give you the confidence to process your own.
If you register before Tuesday, Feb. 3, a delicious, hot, homemade lunch will be included.
We have one ticket price for single registration and a discounted ticket price for two people coming together.
