Join us for the third annual Theology on the Prairie series, hosted by Acadiana Roots! This year’s theme is:
Seek Like Mary, Serve Like Martha: Balancing contemplation and action in our spiritual journey.
In Catholic imagery, Mary and Martha — friends of Jesus — remind us of the two essential dimensions of Christian life: Mary at the feet of Jesus, listening in prayer and adoration, and Martha serving with love and hospitality. Neither stands alone. Together, they reveal the heart of discipleship: worship and service.
Each Thursday night in October, a guest theologian will guide us in reflecting on this balance:
October 9 — Fr. Clinton Sensat: Mary, Martha, and Lazarus: Friends of Jesus in Scripture and Tradition
October 16 — Sr. Marie-Thérèse: Mary’s Heart: Contemplation, Prayer, and Adoration
October 23 — Fr. Hampton Davis: Martha’s Hands: Serving Christ in Our Families, Church, and Community
October 30 — Fr. Sam Fontana: Balancing the Spiritual Life: Living as Both Mary and Martha Today
🥘 Supper plates and drinks will be sold each night as a fundraiser for Acadiana Roots.
✨ Invite your friends, family, and neighbors for this chance to break bread, grow in faith, and strengthen our community together on the prairie.
