Spring Into Garden Activation is blooming on Sunday, April 12, from noon to 4 p.m. at 255 Maxwell in the River Road Neighborhood—the former Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and future home of Square One’s Our Village residential co-op.
Spring Into Garden Activation
Hosted by the River Road Community Organization, the Kelly MS Civics Class, and Amicus Memorial Garden, this lively neighborhood gathering is all about growing food—and growing community. Whether you’re a first-time gardener or a seasoned green thumb, you’ll leave inspired and ready to plant.
🌱 New to gardening?
Join a hands-on beginner workshop and short, practical talks on gardening and community building. Head home with seeds, know-how, and even containers and soil if you need them—everything to start growing vegetables right where you live.
🌼 Connect & collaborate.
Meet local garden and community groups, swap ideas, and form neighborhood “garden clusters” with nearby residents. Help build a stronger River Road gardening network and a more resilient community.
🥕 Strengthen local food systems.
Food-focused organizations will gather to deepen partnerships and expand collaboration across the neighborhood.
🍲 Celebrate with a potluck at 3 pm.
Bring a labeled dish to share (and your own serving utensils) and enjoy good food with great neighbors.
Let’s plant seeds, share knowledge, and grow something bigger—together.
