Carl Woideck is a saxophonist, author, teacher, and radio broadcaster who has led jazz groups in the area since the 1970s. He taught popular music history full-time at the University of School of Music and Dance until summer 2020. Woideck's books include Charlie Parker: His Music and Life (University of Michigan Press, revised 2020). His radio show, The Soul of Jazz, airs most Wednesday nights on KLCC- FM (klcc.org).
Torrey Newhart is a keyboardist, pianist, and composer; originally from Bend, Oregon, but now resides in Eugene. A consummate performer, Torrey has several releases under his name and ongoing project of Obsidian Animals, and performs often with Inner Limits trio.
Sean Peterson is a bassist and composer based in Eugene, Oregon. He performs regularly with Halie Loren, Laura Kemp, Calvin Orlando Smith, Oregon Bach Collegium, Torrey Newhart, and Carl Woideck. Previously he performed with Tony Glausi, Cascadia Chamber Opera, Eleven Eyes, and others. In 2015 he released his first album as a leader, "Let It Show," which he composed, arranged, recorded, and mixed. Sean received his Master’s degree in jazz studies and his PhD in musicology from the University of Oregon, where he teaches classes on Jazz History, The Beatles, music of The Americas, and leads the University of Oregon Hip Hop Ensemble.
Oregon-based drummer, Ken Mastrogiovanni, brings a unique sensibility and modern voice to the drums and the music, making him a rising musician of his generation in his music scene. He is drummer, producer, composer, and educator.
