Olemme saaneet suoran yhteyden Gazaan. Tuletko kanssamme vastaamaan puheluun?
Tuomme Gazan lähemmäs Suomea runojen ja tekstien, videotervehdysten, puheenvuorojen ja elävän musiikin kautta. Otamme myös suoran puheluyhteyden Gazaan.
Esitykset ja puheenvuorot suomeksi, englanniksi ja arabiaksi. Osittain tekstitetty.
Liput 15–150 €. Kaikki lipputulot ohjataan Lääkärit ilman rajoja ry:n kautta Gazaan.
Kommenttti tapahtuman järjestäjiltä: "Olemme olleet liian kauan hiljaa – niin Suomi kansakuntana kuin kulttuuri-instituutiotkin. Silmiemme edessä tapahtuu kansanmurha. Jos olemme historiasta oppineet jotain, on se tämä: pahuutta tapahtuu, koska itseään hyvinä pitävät pysyvät hiljaa. Tämä tapahtuma on pieni teko, mutta se on jotain. Se kiinnittää huomiota Gazan siviilien kärsimykseen, jonka ei enää koskaan pitänyt olla mahdollista”, toteavat Matilda von Weissenberg ja Jussi Sorjanen.

Nemat Battah, Sibelius-Akatemian Global Music -osaston varajohtaja, ud-soittaja ja laulaja, tuo lavalle arabialaisen musiikin perinteitä ja uusia sävellyksiä.

Randa J. Al-Dawoudi, palestiinalainen journalisti, kirjailija ja viestinnän asiantuntija, joka työskentelee kulttuurien välisen ymmärryksen parissa
Gaza ennen ja jälkeen – muistot, sinnikkyys ja tarinankerronta vastarintana
Mukana myös Gazan asukkaiden viestejä videolla.

We have managed to create a live connection with Gaza.
Will you answer the call with us?
Through readings, video messages, talks, and live music, Gaza calling Espoo brings the human face of Gaza closer to Finland. The event is part of breaking the silence around the genocide.
We will also make a direct telephone connection to Gaza.
Performances and speeches will be in Finnish, English, and Arabic. Partially subtitled.
Tickets 15–150 €. All ticket proceeds will be donated to Gaza via Doctors Without Borders.
Comment from the organizers: "We have stayed silent for too long – both Finland as a nation and its cultural institutions. Genocide is happening right before our eyes. If history has taught us anything, it is this: evil happens because those who consider themselves good remain silent. This event is a small gesture, but it is something. It draws attention to the suffering of civilians in Gaza, which should never be allowed to happen again," say Matilda von Weissenberg and Jussi Sorjanen.

Gaza before and after – memories, perseverance, and storytelling as resistance

Kaisa Rautaheimo, photojournalist for Helsingin Sanomat, familiar with the Middle East and has reported from Gaza, among other places

Compañía Kaari & Roni Martin, an award-winning Finnish contemporary dance group that combines flamenco and theatrical storytelling, will perform a piece based on songs in Finnish and Arabic.
