We will be holding an Active Shooter Preparedness / Stop the Bleed training session at the Brookside Fire Department ( 3560 Athens St, Erie, PA 16510 ) on Friday, October 17th @ 6:30 PM. This is a community event and all are welcome to attend. Fee for the class is a donation of any size to the Brookside Fire Department the night of this event.
Would you know what to do or how survive an active shooter attack? Over the years, we've seen that they can happen anyplace. Every business, school, church or establishment is a potential target. This 2 hour classroom based training session will teach you what to look for and how to prepare for the unthinkable. There will also be a Stop the Bleed training segment that will teach you how to stop perfuse bleeding if you or a loved one are injured during an event.
Trainers:
Active Shooter Preparedness: Tom Wager
Over 35 years of security and law enforcement training and experience. Many years as a volunteer firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician. Tom is an active police officer and security officer in Erie County.
Stop the Bleed: John Rainey
Over 50 years of training and experience as a Paramedic, Emergency Medical Techncian and firefighter. John is a past fire chief and teaches first responder classes to individuals all over Erie County and beyond. He is still very active as a volunteer fighter in Erie County. (1.5 hrs. Continuing Education)
