Performers Playground Theater Workshop Series
From the studio to the stage! We’ll be presenting a performing arts workshop focusing on a different aspect each week leading up to a grand finale field trip to see Opera House Player’s main stage production of “Little Shop of Horrors” including a backstage tour and conversation with the cast!

For Enfield Youth grades 4-8.

Classes will be 6:00-7:30pm except for 11/9 which will begin with the OHP production of Little Shop of Horrors at the Enfield Annex which begins at 2pm.

10/1: Singing
10/8: Choreography
10/15: Improv
10/22: Voice Acting
10/29: Puppetry
11/9: Show with talkback and tour (for those who attend entire workshop series. Additional family members will have opportunity to attend with a discounted ticket.)

Lead Instructors Bios:

Eric Boucher is a co-founding member of Phantom Sheep Players, the longest running professional comedy troupe of Western MA with over 25 years experience as a performer, writer, director, instructor, and even puppeteer. He has taught “LaughCrafters” improv to all age groups 5-75 at schools, libraries, and theaters across New England including their homebase at Unity House Players in Springfield, MA. Eric is also a production advisor, designer, and director for Opera House Players and currently directing their fall production of “Little Shop of Horrors”. Other recent favorite shows he’s worked on includes: RENT (Director) Rock of Ages (Director), Matilda (prop, FX, and set design), Avenue Q (puppet consultant/ trainer) and HADESTOWN: Teen Edition (Co-Creative Director). Prior he created and directed over 40 original productions and licensed shows for the theme park industry.


Erin Bakken is the Executive Artistic Director of Valley Student Theatre and a 5th Grade Math & Science teacher at Wells Road School in Granby! Erin has directed all of VST’s productions ever since it was founded in 2019 and has directed many of Opera House Players’ youth shows including Shrek, The Little Mermaid, and Be More Chill. She also is the High School/ Middle School Director over in Granby for all of their theatrical productions. Erin has also been the writer/ director of East Granby’s Seymour Players productions for the past five years. Erin’s favorite roles that she has performed include Bea in ‘Something Rotten’, Paulette in ‘Legally Blonde’, and Miss Honey in ‘Matilda’. She has led many theatrical workshops in Enfield for the past two years and cannot wait for this fun program to begin!


Additional presenters include voice-over artist Zach Bakken and members of Phantom Sheep Players Tommy Lynch and Josh Prouser.
