Mark your calendars — the Emporia Fire Department is thrilled to invite you to our Fire Prevention Week Extravaganza happening on Saturday, October 11th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lyon County Fairgrounds!
This event is packed with fun, learning, and hands-on activities for the whole family. Whether you're 4 or 84, there's something for everyone:
🚒 Climb into real fire trucks and meet the crews
💦 Test your aim at the firefighter spray course for kids
🧯 Try your hand with our fire extinguisher simulator (for teens & adults!)
🎥 Watch a safety video and learn about protecting your home
🌭 Enjoy free hot dogs and chips while supplies last
This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is “Charge Into Fire Safety™”, focusing on safe use of lithium-ion batteries in everyday items like phones, e-bikes, and tools. We’ll have tips, demos, and resources to help keep you safe.
This event is completely free and open to the public. It’s a great way to connect with your local fire department, enjoy a fun Saturday outing, and walk away with potentially life-saving knowledge.
