Just Sing Something invites you to come and greet the emerging sunshine in song! Revel in the lush harmonies and cha-cha rhythms, as we sing, 'Sway'.
When marimba rhythms start to play
Dance with me, make me sway
Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore
Hold me close, sway me more.
For this event we will be singing a four-part vocal arrangement by Kirby Shaw, with big band backing (recorded). Musical reading ability and previous harmony experience is an advantage, but not essential. All are welcome to join us for an enjoyable evening of singing. A printed music/lyric sheet will be provided on arrival, to be returned at the end of the event. There's no performance pressure, just time to enjoying the collective buzz of singing with others. Towards the end of the evening you'll be invited to record our final rendition on your own device. Detailed event information, including parking and arrival tips, will be emailed to those who have registered on Tuesday 2nd September. Your online registration is essential to support the livelihood of arranging artists, and to honour our copyright obligations. REGISTRATIONS CLOSE AT 9am on Wednesday 3rd September, or when event capacity is reached. To book

'Sway' is a bolero-mambo song, written by Mexican composers Luis Demetrio and Pablo Beltrán Ruiz. Beltrán recorded the song for the first time with his orchestra in 1953, but the first commercially successful version was recorded in the USA by Dean Martin in 1954. Most recently, Michael Buble's recording has enjoyed global airplay success.
