Synopsis:
When Reverend Mother decides to tape a Christmas TV special in the newly built convent basement Cable TV Access Studio, hilarity ensues. Starring the nuns you love, plus Father Virgil, and some of Mount Saint Helen’s most talented students, this musical is filled with wacky NUNSENSE humor, your favorite carols, and a “Secret Santa” sequence featuring audience participation.
Characters (adult ages are very flexible):
Reverend Mother Regina (40s–70s)
The feisty, no-nonsense leader of Mount Saint Helen’s convent. She’s sharp-witted, fiercely in charge, and not afraid to speak her mind—but has a warm heart underneath her tough exterior.
Sister Mary Hubert (30s–60s)
The dignified second-in-command, full of charm and spunk. She often tries to keep things running smoothly, but she’s not above joining in the fun or challenging Reverend Mother when needed.
Sister Robert Anne (20s–50s) The street-smart, wisecracking nun from Brooklyn. Outgoing, bold, and always ready with a punchline, she brings a grounded and humorous energy to the convent.
Sister Mary Paul (a.k.a. Amnesia) (20s–40s)
Sweet, bubbly, and endearingly forgetful, Sister Amnesia has a childlike innocence and a big voice. Her unpredictable nature keeps the others on their toes.
Father Virgil (20s–50s) A cheerful, good-natured priest with a flair for music and performance. He’s easygoing and always ready to lend a hand—or sing a silly song.
Children (10–15) Four local school children featured in the convent’s TV Christmas special. They sing, dance, and add heart and humor to the show. Note: Children will audition from 6-7PM on both audition days.
Everyone is welcome to audition!
