Workday at Flat Creek Natives! 30 August from 8 am to 10 am.
Flat Creek Natives Nursery, which has lost approximately 75% of its inventory due to weather and medical issues, will shut down in October this year. There is much cleanup and preparation needed before the final sale on October 24-25. The owner, Greg Lewis, was a founding member of the Fringed Campion Chapter BOD and is an active current chapter member. In gratitude for all his contributions to the chapter, we are planning a workday to help him get the nursery ready,
DETAILS: We will be helping with general nursery cleanup, such as emptying pots, stacking pots, saving potting soil, moving, and weeding plants.
What to bring: We will be working in full sun most of the time. Water, sunscreen, a hat, and garden gloves are recommended. Some areas of the nursery are muddy, so wear appropriate shoes
Bring a chair if you want to sit down while you are emptying pots.

Info and directions
Where is the nursery? The address is 2419 Highway 41 South, Perry GA. Do not put this into your Garmin. Use the directions below (shortcut: put Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter or Flat Creek Public Fishing Area in Garmin, we are 1 mile south, on the right).
From the north: We are only 4 miles from the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter. Take I-75 Exit 134 (South Perry Parkway), turn right off the exit. You will see a Waffle House and Shell Gas Station/Striplings on your right. Just past the Shell Station is a red light, turn left, this is US 41. Once you pass the Flat Creek Public Fishing Area on your left, the nursery will be one mile further on the right (west) side of US 41. You will pass the a Truck Service Shop on the right.
Directions from the south: Take Exit 127. Turn left onto Highway 26. Go about a mile, turn right onto US 41 North. The Carriage House will be at the corner of Highway 26 and 41. Go about 3 1/2 miles. You will pass Firetower Road on the right, then Red Ridge Lane on the left…slow down, turn left at the second mailbox on the left.
Look for the single, lonely, black mailbox with 2419 on the side and a traffic cone underneath. It is a long driveway.
If you choose to ignore the directions and use Garmin/Google, the phone number for directions is [478-nine five five-seventeen 31] when you get tired of being in the wrong place.
