Battle of Sulphur Creek Trestle commemoration

Plan to hike, bike, or ride your horse to Sulphur Creek Trestle on a fall day and learn some local history at the very place it happened. This year marks the 161st anniversary of the Battle of Sulphur Creek Trestle which occurred near Elkmont on 25 Sept 1864. Local historians will be on site to tell the story of the battle and the men who fought it. Begin your visit at the Richard Martin Trail - Downtown Elkmont Parking. Presentations will start approximately every half hour.
