April 2026 RAD Class

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office is hosting a FREE self-defense class for women ages 12+ to 99+. The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office teaches the RAD System (Rape Aggression Defense), which is an internationally recognized program that teaches women self-defense safety, along with basic physical techniques to defend against abduction and/or assault.


RAD teaches techniques that require an escape/survival mindset over physical strength or conditioning. Techniques are designed so that women of any size, age, or fitness level can use them effectively. The techniques are meant to create an opportunity to escape, not to dominate or "win a fight".
