We’re excited to welcome Carter County Drug Prevention to the Senior Center to share information about the Peak Mentor Program—a meaningful opportunity for seniors who may be interested in making a positive impact in the life of a young person.
The Peak Mentor Program connects caring adults with local youth to help build strong, positive relationships that support academic success, personal growth, and healthy decision-making.
💙 About the Program:
Mentors and mentees meet one hour per week
Matches are based on shared interests
Mentoring is one-on-one and lasts for one full year
Weekly conversations may include topics such as:
School and homework
Family and friendships
Sports, hobbies, and community
Life skills and goal setting
Academic support is available for mentees
Mentor/mentee pairs are encouraged to participate in relationship-building activities that matter to the youth
The heart of the program is creating a strong, supportive bond through consistent, meaningful time together.
✅ Mentor Requirements:
Completion of a mentor training class
Passing a background check
A commitment to showing up consistently and positively
