Each year, on Veteran's Day Weekend , the WWII History Center holds its annual Open House and the WWII Reenacting Corps holds their annual Public Battle reenactment in conjunction with El Dorado's Celebration of Freedom. Come see what's new at the WWII History Center, at the Kansas Oil Museum, and then come see a WWII weapons demonstration and public battle reenactment!
We're in need of all ETO reenactors, Americans, Brits, Canadians, Germans, partisans...and we're in need of the PUBLIC to come a watch a great show!
Site Opens at 10 am for public displays. This year, parade time returns to 11am, free hot dogs in the park at noon, and we start our reenactment activities at 1pm. Introduction, demonstrations and several battle scenarios. Reenactor interaction with the public afterwards (talk, pictures, up-close look at weapons and equipment) to follow reenactment.
We're a nonprofit run completely by volunteers. Suggested donation of $2 per person to attend would be greatly appreciated! But if you'd like to give more, we could definitely use it to put on a bigger, better show next year!
