Sound can transform how we experience stories, spaces, and artworks. In this workshop led by Siem Oosterhof, you’ll learn how to create and edit your own audio compositions using GarageBand—a beginner-friendly tool that makes sound editing accessible to everyone.

After a short introduction on the main features of the audio editing software, we will exercise in sound layering, editing and composing. By the end of the afternoon, you’ll have a finished sound piece and a toolkit of techniques you can continue to use in your own projects.

No prior experience is required: whether you want to design an intro for your podcast, compose a jingle for your radio show, or experiment with audio atmospheres to accompany an artwork, this session will give you both the skills and the inspiration to get started.

Practical Info

About the Tutor
Siem Oosterhof graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in Interdisciplinary Design. His practice unfolds primarily in the digital world, where he designs visual environments and composes immersive soundscapes that blend found and self-recorded sounds. Siem enjoys layering textures that shape ambiance and creating unexpected, playful beats that open new sonic worlds.
