At 11 AM, we will gather at the Tourist Information Centre parking lot in Eganville on Hwy 60 just east of the 3-way stop. For the first hour, we will have a STREET PRESENCE in that area, at the junction of 60 and 41. Instead of chants and slogans, we want to ***Ring Bells for a More Hopeful Future.***
Please bring anything you have that resembles a BELL!
We'll be bringing some placards made for us by local youth, and also our banners. Of course, we welcome your own contributions, but PLEASE BRING BELLS!
At Noon, we walk around the corner to the Amphitheatre at Gerald Tracey Park (formerly Centennial Park). We will hear brief but catchy and informative presentations on building local resiliency to escalating climate issues and the social chaos it causes:
◦ Sherry Dion, Nenaawateg (Algonquin Indigenous Hub)
◦ Peter Emon, Renfrew County Warden
◦ Duncan Noble (P.Eng.): Climate Science & Engagement
◦ Paul Isaac (P.Eng. Retired): Promoting Off-Grid Transition
An “AFTER-CHAT” follows these presentations: mingling, discussion, and snacks in the Park’s Gazebo.
NOTE: We expect good weather but if wet, the speakers & after-chat will move to BUPL library (74-A Maple St, Eganville, ON K0J 1T0).
*** HOPE TO SEE LOTS OF FOLKS ON SATURDAY. ***
It's a small investment in our children's and all wildlife's futures.
Thanks to all our volunteers, Fifth Chute, and Morninglory Farm for their support, as well as the Council of Canadians, Seniors For Climate, and the Draw The Line coalition.
Also check out other Workshops in Eganville.
