Join CSF and guest speakers exploring the pressures of water as a resource across Nottinghamshire and the surrounding area.
Both ground and surface waters are under increasing pressure from pollution and climate change. Farms and business rely on water as a resource. How can we protect it and use it efficiently?
The rivers across Nottinghamshire and the Sherwood sandstone aquifer are relied on for abstraction by farms, water companies and businesses. Climate change is impacting us all with drought and flood events. We will delve into the issues facing the water bodies, how we can help to protect them and improve our water use efficiency. Lesley Sharpe will present her Nottinghamshire surface water research findings. We will look at actions that we can take on farm to improve resilience to the impacts of flood and drought. We will have updates on the EA's work to open the Idle and Torne catchment for winter / high flow abstraction.
