Some souls just stay with you. Roxy was one of them.
When she was rescued in April 2024 from an abandoned, condemned house, she weighed only 30 pounds and could barely stand. She arrived at MEHS fragile, but somehow still ready to love, equal parts survivor and softie.
With a careful re-feeding plan, a devoted foster who quickly became her forever mom, and six months of absolute spoiling, Roxy got to live the life she always deserved. She barked at cars, chased squirrels, cuddled under blankets, posed for professional portraits, and even landed herself in our 2025 MEHS Calendar. She made up for lost time in the best way. A little naughty, SO nice, and just the best girl who deserved more time as a beloved family member.
On Saturday, December 20, from 5–7 PM, join us at Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Creamery in Edwardsville (6185 Bennett Drive, Edwardsville, IL) for an evening in her honor. 15% of all purchases will be donated to Metro East Humane Society with the event voucher, helping pets like Roxy get a second chance.
We hope to see you there!
