Edmonton’s own musical multi-hyphenate, Mallory Chipman, takes the Yardbird Suite stage on Friday, September 19, debuting a special two set performance featuring brand new acoustic arrangements to start out the evening, followed by an electric set to close out the night with her signature uninhibited musical fire. Having cut her teeth on the Yardbird Suite stage, Chipman is thrilled to return to the beloved club early in the 25/26 season.
Mallory Chipman is an award-winning singer-songwriter-producer, celebrated for her acrobatic vocals and the tender yet powerful way she weaves story into song. Her latest album, Songs to a Wild God, hit #1 on CKUA, #5 on the Folk Alliance International Charts, and has been featured on NPR and SiriusXM Radio. While reflecting contemporary themes, the quality of Chipman’s craft “places her amidst the longer tradition of the great singer-songwriters” (Americana UK), establishing her as one of the most original voices in Canada’s folk and jazz music scenes.
Over the last several years, Mallory Chipman has toured her original music across Canada, Japan, and Europe, and had the great pleasure of appearing as a special guest with numerous symphony and jazz orchestras. In addition, Chipman has opened for Jann Arden, Madeleine Peyroux, and has sung back up for the iconic rock band, Heart.
