IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level 1 Certification Course

The IMSA Traffic Signal Technician I Exam certifies the holder as being knowledgeable in the basic terminology and operation of signalized traffic control devices and systems.

The exam tests the student’s knowledge of:

• standards and specifications of basic cabinet wiring and components
• operating principles
• vehicle detection
• communications systems
• the tools, processes and materials used to build signal systems
• the fundamentals of traffic signal installation and maintenance
• legal concerns

With the right supervision and direction, the bearer of this certification is ready to contribute to any traffic signal crew that isworking on construction, maintenance, or design.

Target Audience:

Entry-level technicians who have some basic knowledge of electrical, computers and construction techniques.

Prerequisites:

• 1 year of traffic signal related experience
• IMSA Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Technician or IMSA approved Work Zone equivalent

Attendees MUST provide their own laptop or tablet.

You are required to have an IMSA account and ID # to take the course. If you do not have one, please create one at the link below. Your ID #is required for registration.

This is a two day course.

Lunch is included. Other meals, transportation or hotels are not included.

Hotel accommodations:

A room block with a discounted rate will be available.

Refund Policy: A refund will be given minus a $75.00 administration fee if cancellation notice is received 10 days prior to date of certification class. No refund will be given for no shows and notice less than 10 days prior to class.

Upon successful completion of the course, attendees will receive their IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level 1 Certification, which is recognized and respected by employers and agencies across the country.
