Grief is the natural emotional response to loss—yet most of what we’ve been taught about dealing with it is rooted in logic, not emotion. We’re told to “stay busy” or “give it time,” but these myths can leave us feeling more isolated, not better.
This group offers a different path—one that honors the heart, not just the head.
The Grief Recovery Support Group is a structured, action-based program designed to gently guide you through your healing journey. It’s not about “getting over it”—it’s about moving forward with meaning, peace, and emotional freedom.
There are over 40 kinds of losses that can trigger grief: the death of a loved one or pet, divorce, job loss, pregnancy loss, changes in health, or even the loss of hopes and dreams that never came to be. Whatever your experience, this group is here to meet you with understanding and compassion.
This work isn’t just for those grieving a death—it’s for anyone carrying the pain of unmet expectations, unspoken words, or unresolved feelings. It can help you move through emotional numbness, avoidance, or regret, and support you in finding a sense of completion and healing in your relationships.
The program is based on the evidence-based approach outlined in The Grief Recovery Handbook by John James and Russell Friedman. Each week includes reading, reflection, and simple but profound action steps that help you process and release what’s been held inside.
This is a 7-week commitment to yourself and to the group. Your presence matters—for your healing and for the safe container we’re co-creating. Please set aside time not only for the weekly sessions but also for about an hour of homework each week. You will need a copy of The Grief Recovery Handbook, available through Audible, Amazon, or Above Average Wellness.
Whether your loss is recent or long ago, whether you’re feeling raw or disconnected, it’s never too early or too late to begin this work. You are not alone—and healing is possible.
