If you love music, can carry a tune, like great people and good fun, Chorealis could be the choir for you.
Chorealis Choir season begins Thursday September 11 – just show up any Thursday at the Unitarian Church of Edmonton 10-15 minutes before practice begins so we can get you set up.
You do not need to be a Unitarian Universalist to be part of the choir but you do need to agree to honour our Principles:
The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations;
Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;
The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;
Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part;
Individual and communal action that accountably dismantles racism and systemic barriers to full inclusion in ourselves and our institutions.
Chorealis is the mixed voice choir of the Unitarian Church of Edmonton.
Chorealis’s repertoire includes secular and sacred works — from ABBA to Vivaldi. Our choir leaders are Karen Mills and Gordon Ritchie, two terrific musicians.
Practices: Thursdays 7:00pm to 9:00 p.m. at UCE September to the first Sunday of May
We welcome new singers throughout the year. You are welcome to drop in any Thursday to give it a try.
Chorealis sings in services once a month and at special events throughout the year. We also collaborate with other choirs and guest musicians and hold choral workshops. The choir is a wonderful way to meet new people, fire up or rekindle a love of singing, and discover the joy music can bring into your life.
