In Love’s Labour’s Lost, the King of Navarre and his 3 Lords swear off women and romance for three years to focus on pursuits of the mind. When the Princess of France arrives with her 3 Ladies though, the men’s plans go out the window and they are immediately smitten. A rom-com with tricks, misunderstandings, and mirth.
This version of the classic Shakespeare play has been adapted and will be directed by Tracy Cahill. It will be a fast-paced, small-cast show where performers take on multiple roles.
The show opens Friday Jan 30th and runs for 4 weekends through Feb 22nd, 2026. Friday & Saturday’s curtain is 7:30pm, Sunday’s curtain is 2pm.
A table read will take place in late November. December 13-18th there will be 2 read throughs. Rehearsals will start on Monday Jan 5th and will generally be Monday – Thursday in the evenings.
Auditions are Fri Nov 7th from 7-9pm, Sat Nov 8th from 9am-12pm, with Callbacks Sun Nov 9th from 1-3pm as needed. Zoom auditions are available for folks who are currently outside the PNW but who will be here and available for the rehearsals and show.

Most roles are open and can be played by male, female, trans or nonbinary artists. All actors will take on multiple parts. Actors of every race, ethnicity, age, body shape, and ability are welcome.

King of Navarre, adult, giving up on love in pursuit of knowledge and wants his friends to do the same
Berowne, adult, a Lord of Navarre and a quick-witted, sharp leader in this group
Longaville, adult, a Lord of Navarre who is sweet but a little insecure
Dumaine, adult, the youngest Lord of Navarre not quite as quick as his friends
Princess of France, young adult, beautiful and clever she has been sent to solidify a land deal
Rosaline, adult, wiser and wittier than the rest
Katharine, adult, quick tempered and not looking for love
Maria, adult, funny and romantic
Boyet, older adult, the Attendant of the Princess a funny, fatherly figure who is a loyal friend
Boy/Moth, a young attendant of the Spaniard Don Armado *musical
Costard, the clown, a walking malapropism who confuses and delights
Holofernes, adult, a schoolmaster, a scholar
Nathaniel, older adult, a clergyman who is not quite as smart as he thinks
Dull, adult, a police officer comedic relief, counterpart to Holofernes and Nathaniel
A lord, A Game Warden, and a Messenger can be played by any player
