Come along and enjoy a relaxing and inspirational Saturday morning with us, as Solmaz teaches you how to make a Persian Noodle soup, a healthy and nutritious soup of beans, green herbs, garlic, onion and kashk (whey) that symbolises growth, new life and good fortune for the year ahead. We will also make Walnut and Rose water meringues, that are traditionally had at Nowrouz with a cup of tea or coffee. The recipes can be made vegetarian depending on your dietary requirements.
Once the dishes have been prepared, sit down together with your fellow attendees to enjoy what you have cooked!
Money raised goes towards our work. Our work involves bringing people together to enjoy good food and good company, whilst working towards addressing food insecurity in a dignified way.
By participating in our events you are directly supporting the work we do with people taking the first steps on their own food journeys, whether this is learning the basics of food hygiene and cooking, or receiving support via our flatpack meals services and community pantries. Thank you for choosing to participate in an event that makes a difference.
Cyrenians offers half price tickets for those under the age of 12. Please select 'child ticket' when making your purchase.
This event will be taking place at our Flavour and Haver cook school in Leith, a short walk from Leith Walk and Pilrig Park. Accessible through Lothian Buses via Leith Walk, Great Junction Street and Bonnington Road.
