Learn how to create a workplace where everyone's unique neurodiversity is embraced, leading to a more inclusive and thriving environment.

About this Event

Hosted by ChangeHR, this one-day, in person event is a great opportunity to explore the importance of understanding neurodiversity in the workplace.

In the UK, one in seven people are neurodivergent. However, many choose not to disclose their neurodivergence due to stigma, misunderstanding, or a lack of support. Despite growing awareness, neurodivergent employees often face barriers that prevent their strengths from being recognised and fully utilised.

Understand both direct and indirect discrimination, and ensure your policies provide appropriate protection for neurodivergent employees.

Clarify the legal definition of disability, recognising that while not all neurodivergent conditions are automatically classed as disabilities, many may qualify under the law.

Shift the focus from diagnosis to impact, assessing how an individual’s neurodivergence affects their ability to carry out day-to-day work, rather than relying on medical labels alone.

Identify potential risks associated with “invisible” disabilities, such as lack of awareness, disclosure challenges, and the complexities these can create when managing performance or misconduct issues.

Strengthen employer knowledge and confidence to avoid misinterpretation of behaviours, ensuring that reasonable adjustments are applied fairly, consistently, and proactively.
